First you see me, now you don't. Sad to say the dog days of summer are here. And when I use dog, I mean d-o-g the opposite of G-O-D. I have been bantering away on my wireless laptop for the last few months in the search of ideas and help. If you really wanted to know you may go ahead and read what I submitted for the "Share your Story" comment page on HealthReform.gov.

'I have had a share of very excellent medical doctors in my twenty-something life span. I have had limited experience with membership with health care plans. I believe that the existence of a variety health care plans as opposed employer based gives room for medical patients to seek better options that may not be available otherwise. I was refused a neurological specialist prescribed diagnostic test by the Federal Blue Cross Blue Shield for a problem that was originally diagnosed to be situational and remedied with Ibuprofen. I have still had difficulties with this medical issue and it has only induced persistent lethargy, coughs, flu, and sore throats among other things. Instead of this test, I proceeded with medical doctor prescribed therapy which has included diet changes, herbal supplement usage, and suggestion of hobbies and activities. I believe medical study and support of well-rounded alternative theraputic measures would help alleviate public pain and sickness and regain faith health care, medical insurance, and the physician community.'

My brother called this weekend from his new dorm in Illinois. He just graduated from boot camp for the U.S. Navy. After a Lenten roundup of shooting murders, an April 5th North Korean satellite proxy missile launch, the potentially criminally culpaple Act of God, the L'Aquilah Italy earthquake that killed 290 people, and the Somali pirate seige of the Danish-owned Maersk Alabama everyone wonders if another round of olympic jousts is just what everyone needs. How about a sound boy burial, instead? I copped a CD from DMLH of Startfires after I attended his presentation of his own anarchist stencil artistry at the Sedition Book collective here in town. I can't get myself out of a club vibe right now waiting for a job or hell to freeze over, what ever happens first. Hopefully, you can forward me a few suggestions or ideas...

Greetings from the Easter Bunny, to celebrate the season, I saw a Miller outdoor theater performance of Beauty and the Beast this weekend with Mom and lawn blanket in tow. Still running for a short time it is a stage adaptation of the Disney movie and not entirely based on the original essay by Jeananne-Marie Leprince de Beamont's eighteenth century revival of the Roman fable Cupid and Pysche. The number "Beauty and the Beast" performed by the character assumed to be Mrs. Potts from the Disney soundtrack was performed to the letter of the originally composed notes and keys sung by Angela Lansbury in the 1991 screenplay. Oh my, how that other bunny works so hard to hide that backyard boogie from us all... Greeting me this morning, was a spawn of email forwards about a missing little African-American girl named Jewel, although the email's subject heading expressed the name Graham and not "Jewel." Not sure if it was a practical joke, I called a couple of the numbers including the father's. I received one of the Aunt's voicemail messages on the second attempt that broadcasted that Jewel had been missing since 2006 and that her search effort was featured on its own website. I emailed the forward to appropriate address for the Strong family to assess whether email forwards are a serious way of relocating a missing loved one. Happy Hunting!

Blue Mojito is looking for serious help after the Sixth Circuit turned down her complaint of judicial misconduct for the judge that dismissed her case in 2006. One of the docket filings was lost in the mail when I first decided to lick my wounds and retrieve it after I had recieved a spirited reception from the CIA and several bad run-ins at the airport. When I requested all of the filings of my case from an office otherwise known as Human Resources, it miraculously arrived at my parents' home even though it was addressed to Airdale Lane sans the important first letter of the street address. So much for my poor dog Russia who received a bleeding welt on the top of his nose. My mother and I had left the house to go to this year's Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo 2009 and came back to encounter a quiet and undisturbed house and a distressed pet after 10:00PM this past Wednesday. I am at a loss for the patience to describe another unsolvable crime scene to local authorities right now. Hopefully, my Craigslist ad might do the job on its own. PLEASE, SERIOUS INQUIRIES ONLY.

George Rodrigue is not associated with any political party nor with any of today's politics. We work very hard to ensure that the Blue Dog Democrats do not use any of our images. We do not want George's art to be politicized in any way. George creates art to bring people together. He wants everyone to be able to enjoy his art without having any pre-conceived notions. Whoopi Goldberg is a good friend of George's and she became a fan of his in the early years of the Blue Dog. Early on, she commissioned him to paint her portrait with the Blue Dog. Then, to help him gain recognition for his art, she graciously agreed to work on the documentary project and to give her unique voice to the Blue Dog. She and George continue to be friends and she is still a collector. She lent her voice as a friend and you should not be offended in any way.

I became a fan of your Blue Dog series of paintings when I happened to view them at Rodrigue's Louisiana: Cajuns, Blue Dogs, and Beyond Katrina at the New Orleans Museum of Art. After viewing the exhibition, I viewed the 1992 "Rodrigue Studio" videos on Youtube.com featuring an interview of yourself, George Rodrigue, describing the inspiration for the Blue Dog, your late Cocker Spaniel Tiffany. I wanted to know why the Blue Dog is narrated by Whoopi Goldberg. I am a black woman and I am intrigued to understand what the Blue Dog means in connection with Harold Ford Jr. fame. This is in respect to Harold Ford Jr. being a Blue Dog Democrat and losing to Tennessee Senator Bob Corker in 2006 during the Tennessee senate race. Senator Bob Corker ran a television ad and a campaign attack jabbing at Harold Ford Jr. for being an overindulgent ladies man running on his sexual appeal and a Caucasian female exclaiming that she met him at a Playboy party. Ford Jr. lost the race to Corker after a heated public debate on the racism behind the television spot. News commentators confirmed the ad to be offensive. Harold Ford Jr. later married a Caucasian woman the next year. For the Blue Dog to come to life through the voice of Whoopi Goldberg, it seems quite offensive to Black women and any woman of African, African-American, Creole, or Spanish Caliphate descent. How does this 1992 depiction of your art fit in with today's politics?

This is even after still suffering from the after shocks of the treatment I received Memphis. After my old New Jersey church burnt down in 1993, the only prizes that we had available to us were $100 raffle jackpots we all pooled for and complimentary nosebleed tickets for our church youth group to see Grant Hill and the Detroit Pistons play the rest of the New Jersey Nets. My great aunt Sylvia loves to send me birthday and Christmas cards in the mail with prayers from The Omaha Home for Boys enclosed. Glad to hear from someone from "home," I usually placed the cards prominently on my desk away in the dormitories in college or on the mantle in my living room apartment in law school. I never took much significance in the enclosed prayers until Sylvia hand wrote a letter dismissing my difficulties experienced since 2005. I took a dip in the tub this weekend with a few capfuls of Johnson's Soothing Vapor Bath for babies. Sometimes I light prayer candles to the angels and the Holy Saints when I soak away my ails and bad ales. A bout of the common cold in Texas? My family used to live down here for a couple of years before moving back to New Jersey. I never really became sick as a kid down here until I shared the chicken pox with the rest of Miss Cerace's third grade class in 1988. The vapor bath's "rosemary, eucalyptus, and menthol" helped dissipate my runny nose and scratchy sore throat earned from funny bottles of Bud Light and broken dishwashers. I found a gray hair in my bangs a few months ago, but my Jamaican cum England cum New Jersey great aunt Sylvia on my father's side wears a blonde hair piece at the age of seventy-eight. She is still married to Frank with whom she renewed her wedding vows taken in 1976 almost three years ago. I was born in a Catholic hospital and went to Catholic school for high school, but perhaps I have some how acquired a more than flirtatious reputation. To figure out the origin of that rumor, the Knights of Columbus would have an easier time figuring how Bob Torricelli put the Fibonacci sequence into his voting record. ED HARDY aside, my mother Chantay and her three brothers attended Catholic school as well and eventually married college sweethearts like my father Bobby. West Indian father with no direct roots in the South or Southeast Asia, I stand accused of getting mileage in a pair of LA Gears high tops with the pink, white, and silver laces on standardized tests. When my nuclear family moved to Orange, my high school friend Camille recounted that those Ceylon rubber soled shoes were called Laugh At Jeers. Our small class used to dance to the OJ Simpson verdict and used to make up volley ball teams in physical education with names like AT&T's "All That and Thensomes" and repeat slang from music videos like "Off the hook." Our small all women's school is still holding up better than Aqua Net in South Orange, New Jersey. I was not aware until now that I "was all in the Kool Aid and did not know the Flava."

I am on my second Facebook account. The first account with my first and last name locked me out and continues to accept friends. This is even from friends from college who must have at least seen my messages about having troubles with federal government since 2007. I have received friend requests from names such as "Xtra Butter" and "Ilovelamp" as part of the ongoing harrassment. Today's blue plate special was a Facebook friend request from the youth that caused my younger third cousin to die in January 2001 at a teen party. She died from the youth having a loaded weapon that accidentally misfired in another room. The New York papers interviewed the children at the party and my cousin's mother, my father's cousin, who sang in a reggae band called Althea and Donna when I was born. Asking whether the children thought that her death could be the result of rap music, the rest of mourners in the room listen to our cousins' family friend from Jamaica recount stories of Sharee's career in Jamaican commercials and the wickedness of 'gunmen.' At the time of her death, Sharee was finishing up her eighth grade to attend New York City magnet high school Bronx Science. Her cheerfulness and energy will be dearly missed. However, the youth's friend request was a unwelcomed reminder that Aunt Althea might have had worthwhile vindication of Sharee's death by pressing charges against Even's Bazile and tracing liability to the gun's manufacturer even if it may be Smif' and Wessun.

December 23rd I walked into a seedy neighborhood bar called Knuckleheads adjacent to a local strip joint. I was not looking for a man, but rather a break from reality to drown my sorrows with local Xmas revellers. Earlier that evening, I had tried my two-step at a Montrose nightclub where I frequently hang out with a couple of friends. The bouncer looked me up and down and asked me which party I was with. I told bonehead I was with the owner of the spot, Amir, and waited for the raincheck. I have never seen the real Amir, but the stand-in that greeted me was a guy that I had a run in with a few months ago. Assured that it would be a party of lames, I made my way to the bar I had been drowning my selfish indulgences in beer over the several of the 12 days of Christmas. Last call for alcohol and an order of 35 cent wings infront of me, a dark skinned brother by the name of Mike walked up next to me and pulled up a bar stool. He told he was from in town. He told me that he was a real nigga and at the same time he said he thought I was pretty. I asked him to clarify that and he said it again. I had on a cashmere coat in the color of camel over my hot pink dress. His black leather jacket was zipped up over his powder blue football jersey. His jeans and tennis shoes had already exuded that this would be casual encounter. "Give me your number," he said from the side of his mouth. He did not pull out a pen. He just insisted on asking for my number. He asked me want I wanted to drink and I asked Simon the bartender for a Bud Light. Simon never served my drink that night. To quell the flames of attraction with Mike, I said lets play darts. I led him over to the left side of the bar. A game was already in progess and no darts were free. I patted him on the shoulders to soak in the stranger and told him I was leaving. Strapped up in a seatbelt of my car, Mike came back around for another request. He rapped on my window. I reluctantly rolled it down. He was driving a white Honda Accord and had Three Six Mafia's "Sipping on Some Sizzurp" playing on the factory system. He gave me his receipt to Knuckleheads and asked me for my number. I gave him something to send him on his way, an email address. When I pulled into the driveway of the house, a strike of lightning came from the sky and knocked out a regulation trash pail on the on the other street.

Since my friends have all left the pond for sunnier destinations, I just copped my own hands on a helping of MAC cosmetics. I have never been quite confident on how to draw the line straight under the lash, line my brows, or apply the correct shade of rouge. So in the past, I have begged my friends for tips and makeovers out of their makeup cases. Normally a Mary Kay inductee, I decided to make a purchase at the store in the Galleria a few days ago. Why is it so hard to pin down a MAC Rep for a spin in the chair? Maybe that is why I have always skipped that shop for Victoria's Secret. Every girl must have been featured in a Mary Kay fashion show at least one time in her career and walked down a makeshift catwalk. The last time I called a family friend Mary Kay rep, she told me that she knew Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee. In turn, I proceeded to lay it on thick with my ongoing letter writing campaign. Mary Kay is a staple however MAC has been the lingua franca for known and the bevy of unknown fashionistas. Leaving with Studio Fix powder and a lipstick in Pink Noveau Satin in a plastic sack, if I master those steps, I will come back for more.

Well, I overheard that Madonna did not perform her song "4 Minutes" at her sold out concert at Minute Maid Park last night Sunday, even though today's paper had a photo of a duet between her and Justin Timberlake. I tried to throw a birthday party at the same hotel club that Madonna would be partying at this past weekend, but the expected outcome did not materialize either. Hurricane Ike has come and gone however in its aftermath a big part of the area is without electricity. My brother's friend suggested a trip to Louisiana, but we all stayed in town and played cards by the light of a wind up flashlight. Strange enough, life without electronics is refreshing. The humidity is down and Mom is frying up anything and everything on the stove that is thawing from her two freezers. I purchased a head lamp and plan on diving into a couple of big titles that I have been saving up for a rainy day. Right now, my brother and I type on laptops from a nearby Burger King that has a free Wi Fi Lounge with the Saturday night football game playing on a flat screen. When we return to camp, we put up enough battery powered paper lanterns to have a lights show. It could be fun but the lights won't be back on for at least another two weeks. Hopefully the ghosts and whatever that might go bump in the dark will be gone by then too.

My mother mailed away for a high powered telescope that she earned with her Coke points last year. We used it to view the heavens from our inauspicious vantage point, however I've discovered that you can view the light and shadows of celestial bodies with your very own eyes and without leaving the neighborhood. For example, walking the dog yesterday unearthed a peculiar sight. The shadow cast from an upright patio table made it look as if the object had been levitating off of the ground on its side. I took extra photographs. The shadows of the home's iron grate and nearby lamppost did not bend at the same impossible angle.

Of other strange sightings, is a single street sign that houses an enormously long stalk of grass jutting from the top of the post. Could it be a sunflower, a corn stalk, or alfalfa sprouting from the edge of the curb?

Of course when the outside world gets too chaotic, it is always nice to retreat to the confines of your home sweet home. No it's not central air conditioning, it's tin foil shingle for the roof.

Just like Ocean's Eleven movie series star Bernie Mac, Musician Isaac Hayes is now gone. Billed as a "Memphis Icon," Isaac Hayes' restaurant shut down in 2007 to make room for another Peabody Hotel. Hayes also left his job in early 2006 as the voice for "The Chef" on the animated series South Park after the show decided to poke fun at Scientology. Both celebrities will be missed but not forgotten.

Zsa Zsa Gabor, who great-grandmothered Paris and Nicky Hilton, has been said to have passed on the title to a number of adoptees. However the Prince has acquired his title, he sees it fitting to ridicule Michelle Obama saying that she will look like a washer woman among former first ladies.

Many people have claimed to be Anastacia including Germany's Anna Anderson who died in the Dalldorf Asylum in 1984 and could not read or speak languages becoming of a Russian princess. Anderson's remains could not pass a DNA test years after she died. The legend of Anastsia has helped to keep the memory of her father Czar Nicolas II in the public consciousness years after his fateful overthrown.

TIME online featured an article this week about the new website www.whocanisue.com that beginning in September determines for consumers whether they actually have a case and help them find an attorney from a list of lawyers who advertise their expertise on the website. As always, I forward relevant information like the www.whocanisue.com by way of e-mail to other lawyers and other professionals that I know. If you haven't fallen in love with the 44 pound homeless cat named Princess Chunk by now, you are probably dry heaving over the cat's grotesque enormity. Personally, my guess is that Princess Chunk's size is due to some sort of undisclosed experiment. A cat that huge and having to fend for itself probably escaped its cage with the laboratory scientist turned her back to give the feline another shot of human growth hormone. It could be possible. Bruce Ivins, one of the perperators of the 2001 Anthrax scares committed suicide this week a criminal probe indicated that he might face the death penalty for his work at a United States Army bioweapons laboratory. The Navajo Nation located in parts of Arizona, New Mexico, and Utah are facing a disruption of satellite telecommunications services provided by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) due to a failed audit by the Universal Service Administrative Co or USAC. The USAC which has the authority to administer FCC grants to rural and low-income consumers is charged with mishandling funds to the Navajo Nation's internet providers. As for satellite communications, I was pleased to see the FCC's public service flyer announcing the switch from analog to Digital TV among the handouts provided at a prominent African-American professionals conference that I recently attended. Since 1996, the FCC has been steadily moving television to Digital TV to free up weaker radio frequencies to be auctioned off to new industry and for emergency services. Satellite telecommunications enable the Navajo Nation's telephone services, library online access, and access to online university courses. The Navajo Nation, credited by the pentagon for its skill in creating code cyphers during World War II, are currently battling for continuity of the services on its 27,000 square mile reservation.

David Hampton only wanted to get into Studio 54 so he scammed wealthy Manhattanites to invite him into their hearts and home by telling them that he was David Poitier, the Black movie actor Sidney Poitier's son. David Hampton's good looks and suave charm earned him a twenty-one-month burglary sentence and a 1993 film based on his con game in Six Degrees of Separation. Hampton tried to sue the movie's film maker John Guare in 1991 however the 100 million dollar suit got tossed out after an appeal. The New York Times quoted the trial court's ruling stating "society's response to one whose labors are in violation of its penal laws is punishment, not reward." The appellate court ruled that Hampton's hoaxes were not entitled to damages because Guare's play was a protected work of fiction. Hampton passed away in 2003.

It gets really upsetting when you have realized that you have spent a number of years complaining about a situation and no seems to know what is going on or even attempt to blurt out a clue. Although I spent several days in New Orleans a couple of weeks ago, the last real holiday that I had was in Jamaica for my cousin's wedding. He and his wife got married in the summer of 2005. His brother in 2004. Three babies are ready to be baptized this summer. As for me, stay posted to the blog. Unfortunately for Chandra Levy, her parents will never have the chance to partake in these momentous occaisions.

Although my legs and arms are about the size of tree trunks right about now, I decided to sign up for a membership with the Sierra Club for some happy hiking trails. The organization does amazing work with lobbying and activism on behalf of the United States' national parks, resources, and wildlife. In California, the Sierra Club along with other California groups in the Courage Campaign were able to halt the building of a Blackwater Worldwide military training camp that would have impinged on the sanctity of the San Diego area's Hauser Canyon Wilderness and Pacific Crest Trail and on local businesses. Puportedly to evade public scruitiny, Blackwater Worldwide applied for Potrero, California permits under business entities Raven Development Group and Southwest Law Enforcement. Not to be thwarted, Blackwater Worldwide decided to open up camp again in the San Diego city limits in Otay Mesa, Mexico spawning a new campaign to block the company's permanent fixture in the community. Since last year, Blackwater has been suspected of launching destructive and retaliatory attacks when it fails to get its way. The same residents of the Hauser Canyon that lobbied in the Courage Campaign experienced fires in October after pressuring the private contractor to abandon its petitions to the Potrero Board of Supervisors. A New York Times envoy in Iraq witnessed the company's mercenaries kill their dog, Hentish. Three Blonde American orphanage workers evacuating from post-election violence in Kenya have nothing but gratitude for Blackwater's rescue tactics.
